Duncan Robertson. 23 years old hunting down greatness. South African who has been given 525 600 minutes to make a serious impact in London, and to leave a little excellence somewhere on this rock.

Embarked on a weird journey from high school musician dropout, turned top media student, turned advertising academic and teacher, turned freelance communications worker, turned ‘about me’ writer.
Driven by the idea that I will someday get paid to think, I did plenty of thinking while studying my undergrad at UCT in Media and English Language and Literature (with shades of sociology, anthropology, criminology, philosophy and so on) and was rewarded with too much recognition.

Didn’t sleep for a year while doing my honours in Media Theory and Practice at CFMS – was kept awake, pulling the covers close, biting my nails, obsessing about strategic developments in media industries. Watched way too many beer commercials for my six chapter dissertation, and proved that advertising works by drinking way too much afterwards. Taught my own advertising seminar to a group of the smartest and most intelligent senior students at UCT. Worked with the best agency in the entire world: Ogilvy (Cape Town).

All the while paying my way by working as a freelance strategist, web designer, copywriter, developer, art director, designer, researcher, analyst and so on. All the blood, sweat and tears have been nearly packaged into my sanitised CV.

The all-seeing omnipresent Tickle.com had this to say about me,“You live and think outside traditional boundaries. When others focus on limitations, you use logic and analytical thinking to create new possibilities and ideas. Your grasp of reality makes you focus on how to take a project or ideas through to completion. You learn quickly and enjoy working with other intensely creative and ambitious people. With your people skills, you can become a fearless leader who expects others to keep up with your head-turning pace.”

If that didn’t have you entirely convinced, “Your right job will allow you to be Creative and Strategic. You're a visionary in many people's eyes — able to think outside the box to come up with your own solutions. You are not necessarily creative in the artistic sense, but because you can expand your mind to do things differently it might take a while for colleagues to recognise and reward you for your entrepreneurial spirit and abilities. You make it hard for people to pigeon hole you so you need a job that allows you to play to your strengths, break out of the mould, and truly excel.”

I wouldn’t take this too seriously, as Tickle.com revealed that I had a genius IQ score and that my subconscious is, "most driven by sexuality".

Anyways, now that you know a little about me I would like to know more about you.
